More easy lessons from Mark

This one is more of a workbook of some of his favorite loony sketches. It is very short in length, about the size and length of a coloring book compared to the huge original Mark Kistler books, like "Draw Squad".

Mark shows you how to draw in in three dimensions so your art looks better. Space ships robots, and other inventions galore! His way of teaching is simply the easiest method a person can have to start drawing. Along the way you are learning perspective, shading, and other drawing tools without making these seem like tough concepts.

If you are looking for some fun stuff to draw, and the books you have seen before only seem to make it harder, your search is over. Mark's step by step method makes it easy for anyone at any age to get some basic drawing skills. You may want to try his big book "Draw Squad" before this one if you haven't yet... This one is for someone that has his other books already. And if his books are good, his old show on PBS and his videos are even better. He does not start by intimidating you with the completed project, in fact you don't always know what you are drawing until you are done. He takes you one line, circle, or square at a time and before you know it you have a fun completed drawing. I also reccommend you try the books from Ed Emberly, or check my lists on Amazon for kids that want to learn to draw, or be a cartoonist or animator.

Great if you are just starting to learn to draw or if you have drawing for a while

I grew up watching Commander Mark Kistler and his Draw Squad and he is one of the reasons why I became interested in art as a whole. Even if you didn't grow up watching his show as I and many others did you should really pick up one of his many how to books like this one. He shows step by step instructions on how to draw basic shapes, add shadow effects to objects/people/things and then combining everything into one work of art.

Pick this book up if you are aspiring to be a great artist or you just want to learn how to doodle around with some fun objects and creatures. Mark Kistler opens up your imagination and shows you how you can put it to paper.

I love drawing, something I've just started doing and I'm in my 50's. I've been using this and Kistler's Learn To Draw In 30 Days. I highly recommend both. I'm sure I will be purchasing more of his lessons because compared to others I have tried, his are so easy to follow and you are drawing awesome things right away.

Hill and Petrucci General Chemistry used book-acceptable condition

The delivery time was good. The book was used so it was not shiny or anything. It is quite old but as long as you don't give it to a kid to play around with, it'll be fine. Just maintain it well and it will stay maintained.

Not just for veterinary professionals

Although this book is written primarily for practitioners in the veterinary field, I highly recommend it as a resource for serious dog sports enthusiasts, instructors, and coaches. Chapters 1, 2 and 10 cover a good portion of the materials Chris Zink presents in her highly regarded "Coaching the Canine Athlete" seminars. (If you've been to one of her seminars and wished you had taken better notes, here's your chance). From there, recognized experts in various fields present extremely medically detailed information on the background, diagnosis, prevention and treatment of injuries and syndromes known to occur in dog sports. If you have not had any medical training, I do strongly recommend obtaining the Kindle format of this book. This makes it very painless for you to research any medical term you do not know as you can simply tap it to obtain a definition and/or jump to a detailed article on the web that will educate you as to the term's meaning.

If you have ever had to rehab a dog after an injury, this book will help you with a deeper understanding of the injury. It is particularly important to have detailed information like this available to you since you will be a critical partner with the rehabilitation technicians in obtaining and maintaining the best outcome.

If you have not experienced the unfortunate situation of having an injured or low functioning canine athlete and are instead looking for information that will enhance performance and prevent injuries, then you will be particularly interested in the chapters on Locomotion and Athletic Performance, the Role of Nutrition, Manual Therapy (aka Massage), as well as the Conditioning and Retraining chapter.

Great for the veterinary PT and rehab student!

After the first few chapters of physiology, which are boring, but necessary, this book is great. I haven't started training yet, but will do so in a few months and I am so looking forward to it. What would make this book better would be a CD or web link to videos for the exercises and diagnostics.

Marilyn Horowitz is an award-winning New York University professor, author, producer, and Manhattan-based writing coach who works with successful novelists, produced screenwriters, and award-winning filmmakers. She is also a judge for the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship Program for film and media students. Great product!!!

This book is a great buy for anyone trying to break into the business of screenwriting, and I do mean the business. Even if you don't have a script complete when you get this book, trust me when I say it not only takes you through the process of how to market yourself, but it also helps improve your "writing mystique", giving you the intuition to become a better writer. It came as fast as I ordered it (due partly to Amazon Prime), and it's been a thrill ever since to read through and improve my strategy. Great buy all around.

'Much easier to read’ was the important conclusion I came to, having spent a little time looking at the latest edition of ‘Jubb and Kennedy’. The relatively simple step of increasing line spacing, and the use of subheadings and bullet points, makes reading any of the volumes of this edition much less daunting. The contents are arranged into ‘body systems’, and include aspects of the incidence and manifestation of different diseases in different tissues and organs. The improved format will ensure that it will continue to be used by pathologists, perhaps in particular, those undergoing training; some introductory sections bring together a lot of useful, as well as interesting, background information.

Still the Bible

This last Fifth Edition is not better than the excellent Fourth, the photographs for instance are the same. The skin chapter has been much improved and perhaps others, but if you have the IV Edition, keep it. No doubt, J&K is the best book of veterinary pathology ever written and for many of us in Latin America, is still the Bible.

Wonderful humorous western pulp stories from a real master

Really enjoyable stuff. Think W C Fields out of work and going to Arizona to be a sheriff. Clever stories, funny parts and more drinking than any Mike Shayne story. Tuttle's best work was Hashknife Hartley but these stories are also really, really good. Big "Thank You" to Altus press for making these works widely available.

A pretty bad flop, by modern criteria

W. C. Tuttle was one of the most popular writers of Western fiction in the pulps during circa 1915 - 40, and among his more popular series were two that featured "cowboy" detectives. These were the "Hashknife and Sleepy" stories, which basically transplanted Sherlock and Watson to the old West, and the "Sheriff Henry" tales, which were intended to be more humorous, basically reconfiguring W. C. Fields as a reluctant sheriff in a small Western town.

The first few Sheriff Henry tales are collected here. I was familiar with the series from several hardback collections of later tales. I have to say in all honesty that these early stories are rough going. First, it was a cliche of what passed for humor in the early 20th Century that drunk people were inherently funny, so at first most of the characters get falling-down drunk at every possible opportunity. When Henry becomes sheriff, his alcohol intake drops a bit, but his sidekicks Judge and Olaf (or whatever his name is) still stay perpetually sauced. It's merely tedious. Also a large number of pretty unfunny pratfalls are taken by these three in most of the stories. It should be pointed out that this kind of drivel was expected, and found quite amusing, by pulp readers of the era. It is only us modern readers who will be left grimacing rather than guffawing.

The mystery solved by Henry in each story is generally pretty thin, and the "investigation" all-too-often only involves finding a letter which conveniently explains the whole thing. I was disappointed throughout.

Overall, I would recommend giving this collection a miss, although I do like Tuttle's work in general.
