Interest in wine shows no signs of diminishing, and wine encyclopedias appear to be keeping pace. This latest, edited by a wine expert of almost two decades, focuses on European-primarily French-viticulture, with overviews of the Americas, Australia, New Zealand, and "the rest of the world." Each zone includes a discussion of its major wine producers, a map, photographs, and unique minutiae. Just as useful is the emphasis on self-education: reading labels; decanting, tasting, selecting, keeping, and serving wine; evaluating corkscrews and glasses; and forming wine and food partnerships. The section on wine-making is fascinating, and readers should find the page on ordering in restaurants very helpful. At the end, there are charts of vintages and of criteria and regulations for quality wine status. The seven pages of wine production statistics seem a bit removed from the book's more sensual purpose, and the glossary favors European spelling, e.g. "oenology." A very good academic style book on wines.

This is a very good book that is quite well known among wine lovers for years now. However, I find the information too academic and clinical for today's tastes. I will use this as a coffee table book and will probably mostly look at videos online. Or this could be a great book to have in your countryside cabin where the internet is rare or scarce. It is well titled - it is an encyclopedia and it does cover the basics of various varietals and regions.

Beautiful masterpiece

The book is simply amazing and covers all the wine-producing regions of the world. I bought this book to my husband as a gift and he really likes it for it is being so complete about wine. I think this book is useful for both connaisseurs and those who try to become a connaisseur. I recommend this book to everyone interested in wine.

The book contains detailed information about production, bottles, regions, basically everything that is worth to know about wine.

A wine Encyclopdeia For Everyone.

This wine encyclopedia has all the information that you will need about wine. It is useful for anyone, from the novice to the connoisseur. I agree with my fellow reviewer that France gets the lion's share of the attention, though I did find the section on Italian wines to be quite good. What was particularly useful was detailed information about the various wine producing regions, the major vinyards, and how to read labels, which at times can be confusing. All of this gives the reader enough information to make really good choices. What was a welcome surprise was the section on the Czeck Republic and Slovenia, and the quality wines that they produce. The section on the United States could have been longer, and I expect that to be expaned in updated editions. Overall, an excellent book on wine.

It is the best cooking book I've bought. The picture of the salad on the book cover took my heart and I decided to buy it even if the salad was the only good dish in the book.But I am lucky for ownning this book.I made some of the dishes in the book and all of them were delicious .The book is the result of the writer's experience as mother and a chef.The essential engrediants of the recipes were explained to make it easy for those who like lebanese food and haven't tried cooking it before.

Beautiful book. Lovely pictures through out the book. US customers need to know that this book is printed in the UK, therefore the measuring system is different but not too difficulty to figure out the conversion. Some recipes may contain long list of ingredients, but most of those ingredients you can find in most grocery stores across the US and middle eastern stores. Can't wait to make my first batch of the ma'maoul cookies with pistachios and date. Yum.

Best Statistics Textbook for AP stats

This textbook was headed up by a tremendous team of experienced teachers in AP Statistics. Explanations are simple and clear. Activities are helpful and well chosen. Exercises are plentiful and well organized. There are many ways for students to check their understanding in each section. I especially like that there are multiple choice for every section.

Laid out well and easy to use

This is a really great way to easily identify problems in your swing and correct them. I like that I can take it with me on the course or to the driving range - if I make a poor shot, I can quickly turn to the right spot in the book and fix it immediately. The book is full of pictures to illustrate the important points, and it focuses in on the top tips - no cluttered explanations here.

Love the tips on improving my grip, picking the right club, posture tips, how to handle different shot situations, and reading the green. It's a great addition to my Kindle collection...my husband sometimes will "borrow" my Kindle on the way out to the course. : ) It's nice to keep this book handy!

Briljante feitelike leesstof

Ek kon hierdie boek eenvoudig nie neersit totdat ek dit klaar gelees het nie!! Dit trek jou in vanaf die eerste bladsy en laat los nie totdat jy klaar is nie.
Steenkamp se skryfstyl is gewone Afrikaans, en ek het dit maklik gevind om te lees en dit vreeslik baie geniet. Ek het 'n afsku aan skrywers wat niks het om te s� nie, en dit dan in pretensieuse Afrikaans probeer verdoesel. Ek het ook na die lees van die boek, nou 'n baie beter begrip van hofprosedures en regsterme aangesien hy seker maak dat dit in leketaal verduidelik word.
Dit is duidelik uit al die gebeure en feite wat in die boek genoem word, dat die skrywer sy huiswerk en navorsing deeglik gedoen het. Daar is ook 'n kleurfoto-bylaag in die boek wat ek baie interessant gevind het. Ek hou ook van die feit dat daar melding gemaak word van 'n mikrotuiste waar jy meer foto's en inligting oor die moorde kan kry.
Dit vat 'n besonderse goeie storieteller om 'n leser vasgenael op die punt van sy stoel te kry en daar te hou. Hierdie skrywer het 100% daarin geslaag om dit reg te kry. Baie dankie vir 'n kwaliteit boek en leeswerk!
Ek gee hierdie boek 5 sterre omdat ek dit nie 10 kan gee nie. Ek beveel dit baie sterk aan as jy ge�nteresseerd is in ware misdaad verhale. Puik, puik boek!!!

About the Author
Dr. Jeffrey Frederick is the Director of the Jury Research Services Division of the National Legal Research Group, Inc., in Charlottesville, Virginia. This division provides research and assistance to attorneys in addressing the problems faced in selecting juries and trying cases before juries. He has assisted attorneys in hundreds of criminal and civil cases since 1975. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, American Psychology/Law Society, and American Society of Trial Consultants.
He is a nationally recognized speaker and author in the area of jury trials. He has written extensively on the topic of jury trials and trial advocacy, including two books, Mastering Voir Dire and Jury Selection: Gain an Edge in Questioning and Selecting Your Jury, Third Edition, and The Psychology of the American Jury.
He has a wife, Linda, a son, Gabe, and a pretty cool granddaughter, Emma.

Great list of voir dire questions

Not many books out there that provide the extensive examples as this one. Text is a little long winded but the book is easy to navigate, so it is easy to find what you are looking for. This book has added to my database of voir dire questions and, therefore, well worth the expense.

Pretty good

This book is pretty good. I am glad I bought it. It is a little expensive though, and I definitely wouldn't have gotten it if my boss didn't pay for it. Regardless, it has a lot of good tips as well as specific questions for jury selection. Good for both criminal and civil trials.
