Es escritora. Estudi� Literatura en la Universidad de Puerto Rico y ha sido invitada como profesora, escritora y editora residente por m�ltiples universidades prestigiosas de Estados Unidos, Latinoam�rica y Europa. Ha obtenido varios premios internacionales, entre los que destacan el Letras de Oro en 1994 y el Juan Rulfo en 1996, ambos en el g�nero de cuento. Muchas de sus obras han sido traducidas al franc�s, ingl�s, alem�n e italiano. Entre sus publicaciones en poes�a cabe mencionar Anam� y manigua (1991), El orden escapado (1991), Mal (h)ablar: Antolog�a de nueva literatura puertorrique�a (1997) y Tercer Mundo (1999). Es la segunda novela que leo de la autora, y sigo con esa curiosidad que espero no se sacie de leer toda su obra, esta novela esta muy bien escrita, tiene ese erotismo de la culpa, esa doble vida de sexo macabro y tan liberador
