In the tradition of Theodore White’s landmark books, the definitive look at how Donald J. Trump shocked the world to become president
From Roger Stone, a New York Times bestselling author, longtime political adviser and friend to Donald Trump, and consummate Republican strategist, comes the first in-depth examination of how Trump’s campaign tapped into the national mood to deliver a stunning victory that almost no one saw coming.
In the early hours of November 9, 2016, one of the most contentious, polarizing, and vicious presidential races came to an abrupt and unexpected end when heavily favored presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton called Donald J. Trump to concede, shocking a nation that had, only hours before, given little credence to his chances. Donald Trump pulled the greatest upset in American political history despite a torrent of invective and dismissal of the mainstream media. Here is the first definitive explanation about how the “silent majority” shifted the election to Donald Trump in reliable Democratic Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan, thus handing him the presidency.
Stone, a long time Trump retainer and confidant, gives us the inside story of how Donald Trump almost single-handedly harnessed discontent among “Forgotten Americans” despite running a guerrilla-style grass roots campaign to compete with the smooth running and free-spending Clinton political machine.
From the start, Trump’s campaign was unlike any seen on the national stage—combative, maverick, and fearless. Trump’s nomination was the hostile takeover of the Republican party and a resounding repudiation of the failed leadership of both parties whose policies have brought America to the brink of financial collapse as well as endangering our national security.
Here Stone outlines how Donald Trump skillfully ran as the anti-Open Borders candidate as well as a supporter of American sovereignty, and how he used the Globalist trade deals like NAFTA to win over three of ten Bernie Sanders supporters. The veteran adviser to Nixon, Reagan, and Trump charts the rise of the alt-conservative media and the end of the mainstream media monopoly on voter impacting information dissemination. This is an insider’s view that includes studying opposition research into Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton’s crimes, and the struggle by the Republican establishment to stop Trump and how they underestimated him. Stone chronicles Trump’s triumph in three debates where he skillfully lowered expectation levels but skewered Mrs. Clinton for the corruption of the Clinton Foundation, her mishandling of government email, and her incompetence as Secretary of State.
Stone gives us the inside word on Julian Assange, Wikileaks, Clinton campaign chief John Podesta, Huma Abedin, Anthony Weiner, Carlos Danger, Doug Band, Jeffery Epstein, and the efforts to hide the former first lady’s infirmities and health problems. Stone dissects the phony narrative that Trump was in cahoots with Russian strongman Vladimir Putin or that the e-mails released by Wikileaks came from the Russians.
The grizzled political veteran of ten Republican presidential campaigns from Richard Nixon to Ronald Reagan to Donald Trump explains how Trump’s election has averted near certain war with Russia over Syria and the rejection of the neocon policies of the Obama/Clinton Administration.
The Making of the President 2016 reveals how Trump brilliantly picked at Hillary Clinton’s weaknesses, particularly her reputation as a crooked insider, and ignited the passions of out-of-work white men and women from the rust belt and beyond, at a time when millions of Americans desperately wanted change. Stone also reveals how and why the mainstream media got it wrong, including how the polls were loaded and completely misunderstood who would vote.
Stone's analysis is akin to Theodore H. White’s seminal book The Making of the President 1960. It is both a sweeping analysis of the trends that elected Trump as well as the war stories of a hard-bitten political survivor who Donald Trump called “one tough cookie."
Roger Stone has authored or co-authored the following books:
The Man Who Killed Kennedy, a New York Times bestseller in which Roger Stone makes a compelling case that Lyndon Baines Johnson was the mastermind behind the murder of President John F. Kennedy. Stone maps out LBJ’s motives for orchestrating the murder and uses fingerprint evidence and testimony to prove JFK was shot by a long-time LBJ hit man—not Lee Harvey Oswald.
Nixon’s Secrets gives the inside scoop on Nixon’s rise and fall in Watergate. Stone charts Nixon’s rise from election to Congress in 1946 to the White House in 1968 after his razor-thin loss to John Kennedy in 1960, his disastrous campaign for Governor of California in 1962 and the greatest comeback in American Presidential history.
Jeb and the Bush Crime Family, in which Stone collaborates with Saint John Hunt to make this a “no-holds-barred” history of the Bush family. After detailing the vast litany of Jeb’s misdeeds, Stone travels back to Samuel, Prescott, George H. W., and George W. Bush to weave an epic story of privilege, greed, corruption, drug profiteering, assassination, and lies. This exposition will have you asking, “Why aren't these people in prison?”
The Clintons’ War on Women, where Roger Stone and historian Robert Morrow uncover the explosive and ugly truths about Bill and Hillary’s crimes and cover-ups. They reveal the damning details about their actions in Arkansas, during Bill Clinton’s scandalous time in the White House, about who really ordered the deadly attack on the Branch Davidian compound in Waco, during Hillary’s federally-investigated tenure as secretary of state, about their time at the corrupt Clinton Foundation, and during Hillary’s failed campaign for president.

"Incredible to follow and now revisit such a historical campaign! Stone and fellow patriot talk show host Alex jokes undoubtly propelled President Trump's campaign to a historical victory. Amazing! Stone called it all the way to the end! No wonder the mainstream media didn't want him on their airwaves. Must have for all Trump fans or for anyone wanting to breakout of the left/right controlled media/political paradigm."—AnalogElvis
"Roger Stone had both the rare opportunity to be at the start of the Trump Revolution and the prescience to record it for posterity. "Roger's books are always an engaging and informative read. This might be his best yet. His longtime professional and personal relationship with Trump makes this the AUTHENTIC tale of 2016 and DJT's longtime presidential ambitions. Stone has been with Trump the entire way. Beware of other books from people claiming to "know" Trump. Looking forward to Stone's next project."—Jack Southerlin
"Wow. I have to say this is the ultimate Trump book! Roger Stone gives behind the scene details of what happened in the Trump campaign and why he won. I would recommend this book to both the Trump supporter and political news junkie."—AmericanPatriot
"Surprisingly, this book reaches across the political aisle. Roger certainly doesn't fear controversy - and that shows in his new book. While I don't necessarily agree with many of his political positions/views, THE MAKING OF THE PRESIDENT 2016 is a well-written, compelling political analysis of truly one of the greatest political upsets of all time. While many right-leaning individuals may seek out this book as validation for their views; liberals and left-leaners alike can learn a lot from Roger's insights and analysis. Especially considering how divided our country is at present, it is of paramount importance to acknowledge and respect opposing viewpoints. To that end, I would recommend this book to anyone - regardless of political affiliation."—Amazon Customer
"This is an important book written by Roger Stone -- a seasoned (famous/infamous) political operative and a long-time trusted Trump adviser. If you want to understand how Trump thinks, how he calculates politically, you MUST read ROGER STONE's book. MAKING OF THE PRESIDENT 2016 is also very entertaining -- Roger Stone relates his time with Trump over decades, recalling conversations and previous Trump presidential campaigns -- even how one day he saved Donald Trump's life. Stone gives you an INSIDER'S VIEW of Trump's campaign -- from Trump's announcement of his candidacy until election night 2016, when Trump finally achieved the presidency he has sought since the 1990s. The book also presents a brilliant analysis of Hillary Clinton and her campaign, and the "Silent Majority" ignored by Hollywood and the mainstream media elites in LA and NYC that elected Trump. If you want to understand why and how HILLARY LOST, the strategy Stone implemented DAY ONE to get Trump into the White House. The truth is Roger Stone never quit supporting Trump -- even when he officially left the campaign. Handing the position of campaign manager to others, Stone strategically positioned himself as "an outsider," much as Trump positioned himself as an "outsider." Stone calculated the move to give him more leverage over the media -- while remaining in constant touch with Trump and key officers in Trump's campaign -- including Paul Manafort -- Stone's long-time political consulting partner. Using the MAKING OF THE PRESIDENT format Theodore H. White made famous, STONE takes the reader through the campaign -- from the primaries, through the presidential debates, and the closing rallies -- weaving a chronological commentary peppered with insightful insights. I truly enjoyed this book and I recommend it to you enthusiastically. If you want to understand modern presidential politics, I strongly urge you to read Roger Stone's MAKING OF THE PRESIDENT 2016."—Jerome R. Corsi

This Excellent Book Will Become the Classic Resource for Future Students of the 2016 Presidential Election
By Phillip F. Nelson.
Of all the people who helped Donald Trump in his 2016 campaign for the presidency, there is arguably no one who has greater credentials for chronicling that astounding story than Roger Stone. His long friendship and business associations with President Trump go back nearly four decades, giving them an intimacy that few of his present-day consultants and assistants can match. That closeness shows through in his telling of stories of experiences shared, including those of “life-altering” dimensions, such as when Stone called Trump in October, 1989 to ask that he delay his trip to Atlantic City because of their need to discuss important business matters. I remember the helicopter crash that killed Trump’s two top gaming executives, which he might have been on had he not delayed his trip at Roger’s request, as I had been at Trump Plaza a week before it happened and was stunned by the news that the men I saw with Trump then were among those who were on the helicopter.
Mr. Stone is known best for his packaging of political acumen and punditry with unmatched sartorial splendor. But much of his reputation is due to oratorical skills on a myriad of topics and – with each volume he has produced – his writing skills have proven to be no less elegant. Who else could have come up with these succinct descriptors of President Trump:?
• “He has always had an exceptional eye for female beauty. He has the same eye for architecture, preferring towering buildings with clean lines, lots of brass, and always large signage.”
• “Notwithstanding the glitter and gold of his buildings, there really is nothing fancy or pretentious about Donald Trump. He likes meatloaf, cheeseburgers, and diet coke. He thrives on a steady diet of cable news.”
Among the best features of Stone’s book is his depiction of the “perfect storm” that attracted Trump to finally deciding to run for the presidency in 2016: The disenchantment of voters, caused by the increasing evidence that the “system is rigged;” the signals that the highest levels of government were bent on the idealist’s goal of a “borderless” world; the widespread concern that the government had capitulated to the globalists’ agenda, and the related apparent primacy of U.N. governance; Obama’s legacy (#2, according to Stone’s tabulation) that the U.S. under his presidency had become much more vulnerable to terror threats at home and abroad; a stagnant economy, increasingly seen as a result of a feckless government; Hillary’s health problems becoming more and more evident and undeniable; the previous cover-up of the truths behind the 2012 Benghazi attack, the “pay for play” fundraising activities of the Clinton Foundation under the guise of a charitable cause, and finally, Hillary’s own credentials, which most other observers had come to realize, were highly over-rated.
The sum total of these fractures left by Obama and/or created by Clinton was that she really had very little in the way of substantive “accomplishments” to offer. Thanks to her own craftiness, she had created a high-risk alternative to using the State Department’s email system in order to keep certain correspondence secret – through other secretive means than the official protocols designed for that purpose, to keep them off-limits from FOIA searches. Stone has covered all of it, and documented to the “Nth“ degree all of the reasons why Clinton lost the election in the same measure as how Trump won it, according to the standards set by the Constitution.
Finally, Stone has examined all the ways Trump, the “non-politician” out-politicked the “seasoned” Clinton in hitting all the right states, with seemingly unlimited energy, while she seemed to slump in appearances everywhere, especially the critical states which became Trump’s focus in the wind-up. The resulting fusion of all of these factors ultimately proved Trump’s prescience was much more the reason for his success than any specious assertion that he simply benefited by the luck of being in the right place at the right time.
Stone goes through all of this, gathering them with a fine-tooth comb, then meticulously and incisively culling through the relevant facts and statistics with a finely-honed scalpel. The result was a brilliant and thorough dissection of the carcass of the 2016 presidential election, laid out for future political science students and historians in one very well written, definitive volume. He literally left no “stone” unturned in a pathology of political analysis that should eventually become the primary resource for anyone who is interested in understanding exactly how the most unconventional and iconoclastic American presidential election history unfolded.
Roger Stone is to be congratulated for maintaining the high standards of the volumes with the original title written by Theodore H. White. His work will eventually become the primary classic resource used by future scholars studying this landmark election.
